UNIVERSITY OF MEMPHIS LOOKING FOR A BAND
Attention all Memphis/midsouth bands. The University of Memphis is hosting a Commuter Student Mixer on Aug. 17th, 2007. We are looking for a band to play during this event. In case you're wondering, the gig IS a paid one. We prefer a band that is within driving distance, because we won't be paying for travel and accomodation expenses. The ideal band is VERY versatile and can play multiple genres, country, rock, R&B, funk/soul, Pop, etc. The crowd will be 18-22 age, incoming freshmen who like to dance and party. Your band must do a wide variety of cover songs, although some originals are fine too. However, we don't want a band that will rock students to sleep! If that's you, then don't contact us! The night will be filled with games, music, dancing, and other fun activities, so you will not be required to play the entire time. We will discuss breaks and other particulars with further contact. Please send a press kit, including your bio, song list, and links to your website or music myspace page so that we can evaluate your music. Also include a technical rider so that we can plan accordingly. Include any other items you think will help us gain an accurate picture of your band. Send to: hbanks@memphis.edu or call us at (901) 678-2644. Thanks!
